Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.
At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.
Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.
"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in providing air defence systems and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a public message.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.
The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.
A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.
Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
Regional authorities said the urban area experienced heavy assaults overnight. A young boy lost their life and three other people were hurt.
The strikes succeed evenings of air raids in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Russian forces.
The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.
Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.
Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
