'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith continues contest with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he remembers the nail-biting dying seconds of Swansea's remarkable turnaround triumph against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles following the pitch-side pile-on.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful effort from distance, and Cameron Burgess promptly hammered in the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to revel in the moment, with supporters swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory completed an incredible turnaround given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 during the second half. Amid the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win earned a fourth-round fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a team Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with Jamie Donley's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. It feels criminal that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've awarded it to him for taking the effort on from that distance," says Galbraith, who began the game centrally before shifting to right flank after Orient changed formation. That meant getting to grips with City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the winger was among the opposition who praised the way the underdogs attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Physically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just do it over and over again," he explains. "It seems as if they always find their target and they are adept at manage and slow down a game. You can believe you're doing well and then without warning they will just deliver a through ball between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on throughout of the game. It requires a tough attitude and attention just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to sign him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He became a favorite as a popular figure across multiple campaigns at Orient and has swiftly done the same in Wales. At Orient he linked up again with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in professional games on loan at Doncaster from United. Then came a spell at League Two the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was likely a slightly green going into men's football. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without real physicality. There are limited physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that growth for his team and nation, excelling for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including both legs encounters against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This represents an incredible journey for the youngster from the local area in Glengormley, just outside the capital, who used to see his parent, Stuart, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

The player's only game for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they played on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was sealed owing to temperatures of bitter cold. "It was a extended travel and it was chilly," he comments, chuckling. "The week before, the academy prospects trained together, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged 16? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I believed I required a fresh start, drop down the leagues and play men's football. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to the local area, the mid-twenties player was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed fun bus, a small coach driven by club employees, the transport team, which shuttles players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's pleasant to socialize with the guys but I'm planning to be the following person out of the minibus and driving. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

During his time at his former club, Galbraith would blend in with fans on London's Central line after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
